Gulf Airlines was founded by entrepreneur Carl James as Gulf Coastal Airlines back in 2001. Founded on a principle of low costs and high quality of service, the airline has made a name for itself, bringing the expected southern hospitality to the skies. The airline began in New Orleans, but eventually grew to move on to base their headquarters in Orlando, adding additional hubs in Houston and Charlotte. Today their fleet consists of 737-800 and 900ER, Boeing 757-200, and a regional fleet of CRJ-700 operated by Floridian regional airline, Circle jet.
