Deutscheadler | Saab 2000 | Livery Concept 1999-2006

Before rebranding, Deutscheadler owned a small fleet of CRJ-100ERs and CRJ-200s for connecting smaller cities within and around Germany to the main network. Even after receiving Avro RJ100s, certain routes still required a smaller jet that could handle shorter runways. The Bombardier Q300 Series was contested with the Saab 2000 in negotiations, but was ultimately ruled out over a proposed delivery timeframe. Nordic Air received a set of Saab 2000s in early 1995, but it was quickly apparent they couldn't fulfill the needs of the airline. They signed an agreement to transfer a total of 20 Saab 2000s over to Deutscheadler for a total of just under 330 million euros. Deutschedler flew these aircraft on routes up into Northern Europe, flying them out of Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Düsseldorf. These aircraft commonly flew up to Stavanger, Oulu, Skellefteå, and Stockholm Bromma.

Most of the Saab 2000s were painted in the controversial 1999-2006 Deutscheadler livery in early 2002. The livery was slightly different than the mainline livery, as the Saab 2000s were coated in a lighter paint to counter cold and harsh weather. A sizeable amount of the 1200 aircraft fleet in late 2001 and early 2002 stood grounded due to world events. With this downtime, Deutscheadler painted almost 115 aircraft in the span of a year. The livery was controversial due to two main factors. The first of the factors was the silver worn by each aircraft was similar to Luftwaffe's coloring on their government fleet. This claim was brought to court, but no action was taken due to no laws being in place restricting aircraft branding & liveries. The second of the prominent objection was the fact that the livery used a sizeable amount of paint, which environmentalists were up in arms over.

The controversial livery lasted for only 3 years. After management shuffles in late 2002, a new livery was designed featuring the eurowhite concept used by many airlines. Deutscheadler would keep the 'Silver Bullet' livery on pre-existing aircraft until the mid 2010s. The livery was present primarily on A321-100s, Fokker 70s & 100s, Saab 2000s, ERJ145LRs, and B767-200ERs.

The Saab 2000s remained in the fleet until the late 2000s, they were replaced by the Q400 series, E170 LRs, and E145XRs. One Saab 2000 was sent to Stuttgart to be shown on display at the Deutscheadler Museum of Flight.

Writing lore that makes sense takes a lot of effort, hopefully I don't burn out writing lore with the rest of these designs

The fact that there is more effort put into the lore than the liveries is.. weird

liveries you can do whatever you want lol

the lore you not only have to make relate to the concept, but make it realistic and relative

Yes, you're right however many people don't do such basic liveries (a greyed out plane and a small circle with flag colours) and massive amounts of lore. Heck some don't care about the lore and focus more on the livery which in this case is extremely lack luster
