Air Aqua 787 9

Air Aqua is a Bahamian airline that serves mostly Caribbean and the Americas, with some destinations in Europe. Operating out of Nassau, this airline connects the world to paradise. It began operating in 1948 with two DC2s leased from Alden International Airlines operating from Nassau to Miami and Cancun. Air Aqua purchased their first aircraft on August 8, 1954, A DC6, which was delivered in March of the next year. The airline then acquired 4 DC9-30 aircraft in 1969 to phase out the aging propeller aircraft. Air Aqua then bought the EMB 120 and 737-300 concurrently in 1985, acquiring the 737-400 soon after. The DC9s continued to serve until 1998 when they were phased out of service, with the EMB 120 following 8 years later after the acquisition of the E175. The 737 classics would be superseded in the late 2010s by the brand new 737 Max. The airline currently operates a modestly sized modern fleet. It has a fleet of 2 B787-9, 5 B767-300ER, 6 B737 Max-7, 6 B737 Max-8 (4 to be delivered), 12 E175, and an order of 8 E175E2 aircraft.

As Air Aqua grew and changed in their aircraft, they also grew in their route tree. With the new DC6s in the late 50s and through the 60s, the airline grew to serve more US destinations, reaching New Orleans, New York, and Orlando; the airline also began to grow in central America with service to Guatemala City and Havana. With the Jet age, the airline saw further growth in North America serving Baltimore, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Atlanta, and Nashville and exploded within the Caribbean, adding Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, St. Kits and Nevis and Trinidad and Tobago to the list of countries served. With airline deregulation in the US in the early 1980s, Air Aqua sized the opportunity to buy up routes to South American destinations in Colombia, Venezuela and Suriname. In the mid 1990s, the airline finally reached the other side of the Atlantic, with a Boeing 767-300ER from Nassau to London Gatwick. Destinations in Europe have grown to include Paris Orly, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Madrid, and Lisbon.

Air Aqua is one of the founding members of Elevate Alliance. The alliance was founded on May 13 1998 along with Sunrise Air (Japan), Spiro (Italy), Union Airways (U.S), and Peacock Air Lines (India). Air Aqua currently serves 52 destinations with 32 aircraft.

The Aircraft featured, C6-DGX was delivered on September 20 2017.
