In 2019 the Century Airlines Group went on a joint venture with Boeing as part of the Ecodemonstrator Program to do this they sold a B757-200 (G-CHEA) to Boeing and then converted it into an Ecodemonstrator aircraft., this was completed by November of 2019. Partnering up with Boeing and Century are: Rolls Royce, Honeywell, Safran, ACSS and Raytheon Technologies. As part of the deal the 757 was to retain the Century Airlines livery with a slight twist, the airline's iconic yellow was swapped out for a shade of green and was then dubbed as the 'Boeing 757-200 Ecoliner'. The first tests of the aircraft took place at Boeing's Paine Field in Everett before moving to Victorville where it is usually seen, current testing is now running behind schedule due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and once they can return to a normal-ish form they will move onto testing numerous fuels and systems before the contract ends and the 757 is withdrawn from service.
