Acquired to replace the VC-10 on routes that didn't warrant a 747, CNA's L1011s hosted a downstairs lounge and what was at the time, an opulent first class. These aircraft served from the late 1970s to 2001, when they were retired following the 9/11 attacks. They were replaced on their routes by A340s and A330s.
