1Time Airline MD-82 | ZS-TRD

1Time Airline MD-82 | ZS-TRD

This is the earliest flight I remember the exact airline and aircraft type (I remember earlier ones, but I don't know the airlines/types), and was part of one of several trips up to Harare, in which we always stopped over in Johannesburg. We flew 1Time for the Cape-Joburg leg, my first and last time ever flying 1Time, as they ceased operations in 2012. It was also my first and most recent time ever being on a McDonnell Douglas aircraft.

The only thing I remember about this flight was boarding through the tail of the plane, and thinking how weird it was, as well as seeing the engine right next to my window, with the fan not moving the whole flight (this, I imagine now, must have been because of...framerate? Is that the right word?). Otherwise, I don't remember anything else about this flight.

ZS-TRD has been stored at JNB since 2012. Shame, it must have seen many things sitting there.

Omg I forgot about this one. Nice work! Though, I recommend masking, it makes your design less edgy.

Thanks, will do next time! ...also I said MD-83 on the picture lol, whoops

DC-9s and MD-80s (among other aircraft) have fixed vanes in front of the turbine fan. That's why to someone who doesn't know what they're looking at, the fan appears not to move, when in fact what they're seeing is the vanes, and the fan is spinning behind them so fast that they don't even see it. I hope I explained that in a way that makes sense. Here's a photo of one of these engines while in flight:

Oh, thanks so much for the info! I was at a young age then, so I was very confused to why the fan wasn't moving.
