Valiant Airways Livery 1971-1984

Valiant Airways Livery 1971-1984

With great fanfare, despite being late to the party by nearly a full year, Valiant rolled out its first 747-100 in late 1971. Valiant would order 15 of the aircraft new from Boeing and marketed the series as the 747 JumboJet. These aircrafts would remain flagships on Valiant's newly growing Transatlantic services for many years. This aircraft, dubbed the Detroit Flyer, wore Valiant's new livery which would endure with the carrier for more than a decade. The typeface and logo remained nearly unchanged but a lighter blue replaced golden yellow as the secondary colour for the airline. It would primarily serve the airline's DTW-LHR service for most of it's life.

(On a meta level, I think I like the colours more even if they look a bit Greek. Hopefully the background is better this time)
