Air Tunisie Express (Arabic: الخطوط الجوية التونسية اكسبرس) is a regional airline that concentrates on domestic routes within Tunisia in addition to operating trans-Mediterranean service to France, Italy, and Malta. Originally established on 1 August 1991 as a domestic-only carrier under the name Tuninter, it was renamed as SevenAir on 7 July 2000 after getting approval to commence international operations from Tunisia. The airline adopted its current name after being acquired by Air Tunisie on 14 January 2011, the day ex-President Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali announced his departure from the country.
