Waka Rererangi which literally translates to "Airline" in Maori is a Christchurch based airline operating domestic and international flights. It currently flies 18 ATR72-600, 14 ATR42-600, and 8 A220-300. The airline was established in 1990 as regional airline operating 2 used BAE Jetstream 31. The airline flew to Auckland and Wellington for their first year. Then in 1992 they placed an order for 10 ATR72-200. They were delivered in 1994. The airline was profiting well and in 2000 made a new hub in Auckland. Later in 2005 they placed an order for 8 ERJ145 which the first got delivered in 2007 but these aircraft were already retired in 2018 because of the new and more efficient A220s which delivery started in 2017.
