One of South African's 747-400M Combi aircraft, used on high density, long haul routes to North America and Oceania. SAA has 4 of these aircraft, with plans to replace them with 777-300ER aircraft in the early 2020s.
This aircraft is seen in the modern day livery.
Okay this is awesome! The only thing that throws me off, is the blue text. I feel like it could've been green or maybe black to fit with the rest of the design.
I figured the blue ties in the other colour of the flag, and just adds a layer of brightness to the livery!

Oh, I see. Imo, the yellow already adds enough brightness to the livery. But designers choice! Still looks cool.

The blue makes it look like a rental or ACMI aircraft as opposed to part of the permanent fleet. It's so different; it doesn't work.

At first I thought the blue looked good, but now that I've read this, I can't unsee it... apart from that detail though, this is lovely!

I didn’t want it black because it was on the Apartheid-era liveries. I wanted it to be brighter to showcase the fact that it was a new South Africa.
