1959 Saw the introduction of Jet Aircraft for United Arab Airways, with the airline taking delivery of its first Comet in late November of the year. The airline would subsequently use these aircraft to replace its aging DC-6 aircraft, putting the jets onto flagship routes such as London, Berlin, Beirut, and Marrakesh. The Comet 3 remained in service until the late 70s, although by then were only used for domestic services and some sub-saharan rotations.
