Boeing 747-200 | 4X-MBC

Boeing 747-200 | 4X-MBC

In 1979, Kavim Israeli Airlines received its first Boeing 747-200B aircraft, building on the success that the airline found leasing its first Boeing 747-100s from US-based MidAmerican Airlines for its Tel Aviv - New York route. The third of six, 4X-MBC and named "David Ben Gurion" arrived in 1981, and allowed the airline to begin regular flights to Asia, operating flights from Tel Aviv to Tokyo via Mumbai, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. Kavim's Boeing 747-200Bs were used by the airline until the late 1990s, when they were replaced by Boeing 747-400 aircraft, and were converted into freighters for use by Kavim Cargo and other airlines around the world.

4X-MBC was configured with 8 First Class seats, 51 Business Class seats and 330 Economy Class seats before its retirement.
