The 1994 livery was the last worn by Global Airlines' fleet of seventeen Boeing 747-200s, which were all still in operation with the airline when the livery was introduced. The carrier's plan for the 747-200s was to keep all of them flying until 2005 at the earliest, so when the new interior hard product was introduced in 1997, it was fitted to all of these aircraft by the end of 1999. The -200s were outfitted with a much less premium-heavy configuration than the airline's 747-400s, with only thirteen Global First seats, 36 Global Business, and 380 Economy, for a total capacity of 429. The low premium density of these planes meant that they were used more on leisure-oriented routes, and after 1997 were mostly found based out of Miami.

Due to the reduction in demand after 9/11, Global Airlines found itself reducing its fleet size like many US carriers at the time. The first aircraft to go were the older, less efficient ones, and this unfortunately included the 747-200. Thirteen out of seventeen were stored at Victorville in 2001-2002, with only four remaining in the fleet until mid-2005. The particular 747 shown here, N3112G, was one of the ones retired by Global Airlines in 2001. It remained in storage until 2006, when it was picked up by a short-term lease specialist for use by a Guyanese carrier, which ended up returning the aircraft to the lessor the next year. The plane was used for wet-lease operations until 2009, at which point its flying career was ended by the effects of the recession on the global aviation industry.

I do like the seat maps, how do you make the fuselage shape?
