In 1979, Royal Airways took delivery of two new aircraft types - the 737-200 and Fokker F27. Both were placed on short-haul and domestic routes. The F27 replaced the Hawker Siddeley HS.748 and the Handley Page Dart Herald, while the 737 was meant to be a replacement for aging BAC 1-11s, however ended up mostly supplementing them instead - the last BAC 1-11 (a series 500) left the fleet in 1993, only four years before the full retirement of the 737-200 in 1997.

Note: Thanks to the F27 template finally being available, I can now bring back Royal Airways after an extended hiatus.
