Georgian Airways was founded in 1991, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, to serve as the flag carrier of newly-independent Georgia. Upon its formation, the government of Georgia owned 50% plus one share of the new airline, with the rest being controlled by private investors. The fleet consisted of two Ilyushin Il-18Ds, six Antonov An-24Bs, and five Tupolev Tu-154Ms, all taken over from the Caucasus division of Sovnaravia (the Soviet Union's enormous rapidly disintegrating national airline). One of the Il-18s is shown here in Georgian Airways' 1991 livery, which was essentially the Sovnaravia livery with the Soviet branding painted over with Georgian Airways' name and a Georgian flag on the tail.

    Nice!

Quite nice. Just a little detail: in the 90s the flag was different, the Five Cross flag is from 2004 onwards.
