In 2003 Trans National recovered from the hit they took after the September 11 attacks. A new CEO was at the helm of the airline and they were doing well again. The new CEO, Nikolas Betram a former Northern and German International executive who took the position from the long time CEO and owner after his retirement, noticed the delapatepted look of the fleet. Paint peeling from aircraft and parts with old colors or just plain white. He decided to commission a firm to re-design the airlines livery.

It would also warp around the fuselage at any other angle than perfectly sideways.
