1953: First privatisation

The airline was partially privatised in 1953, and services to Tangier and Casablanca were launched that same year. Lockheed "Super Constellation" four-engined pressurised airliners, acquired in late 1955, were immediately introduced on the African scheduled services to Luanda and Lourenço Marques. That same year Admiral Gago Coutinho made a test flight to Rio de Janeiro.
