After only 6 years in service, and disappointed with its reliability, and serviceability, BahamAir set out finding a replacement for the Sukhoi SuperJet. Initial talks with Bombardier were transferred to Airbus with the acquisition of the C-Series, and BahamAir placed an order for the A220-100 to replace it's SuperJets. InterJet in Mexico snapped up the Sukhoi's as spares for their fledgling SuperJet fleet.
The A220s entered service in late 2019.
