Douglas DC-10-30 | JA5622

Douglas DC-10-30 | JA5622

Nihon Airlines received its first DC-10 in 1975 for intermediate- and long-range routes that were too big for a DC-8 but too small for a Boeing 747. Nihon received a total of 22 DC-10s; 12 of them were designated DC-10-30Is with a higher maximum weight for international flights, while 10 of them were designated DC-10-30Ds for domestic flights. Nihon's DC-10s served in the fleet until 2004, when the last one was replaced by the Boeing 777.

Today, JA5622 is preserved at the Nihon Aviation Museum near Narita International Airport. The aircraft has been repainted into its 1980s colors, as pictured above.

The livery is beautiful but the tail seems a bit too modern for the 70s

too similar to ana's old livery1631891-large.jpg

    but it's nice
