Airbus A321neo

In 2014, 30 A321neo aircraft and 30 A320neo aircraft were ordered to replace existing ceo fleets, specifically a fleet of 20 A321ceo and 25 A320ceo aircraft.
This was part of a major aircraft fleet revitalization program, ordering many new aircraft including the A320neo and the A350 series to replace older, less-efficient aircraft.

While the A321ceo had shorter turn times than the A321neo and more aircraft were needed to replace the current fleet, the additional capacity allowed by the new Cabin-Flex and lower costs of the CFM LEAP-1A engines provide for a lower operating cost compared to the A321ceo. The increase in aircraft also allotted more aircraft and available seats to serve domestic routes across Canada.

Seating on the new A321neo is 12C, 200Y, with wide domestic business 2-2 seating instead of European business class which consists of regular rows with a blocked middle seat.

The first A321neo was deployed out of Montreal, however many are also operated out of Halifax on trans-atlantic flights to European cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin-Tegel, and Paris CDG.

This aircraft wears a special "First to Fly neo in Canada" slogan as this was the first neo aircraft delivered and operated in Canada.
