Last month marked the end of an era for Skywind's A340-300s, they retired the final A340-300 on the 29/05. The made its final revenue flight two days before which was LHR-MRU-LHR as SKW221. Its final flight was from LHR-LDE where the plane will remain till its scrapped, the plane was given a sort of special livery which had some signatures of the Skywind management and pilots who flew the A340-300s.
Skywind were avid operators of the A340s, as they operated every variant except for the -200, currently they only have -600s in service after they withdrew the -500s from service quickly and quietly after the deliveries of their B777-200LRs. The replacement for the A340-300 is the B787-9s which have already come into service and with still a further 8 on order.
very nice!
