Hellenic National DC-9-10 (70's scheme)

With piston and turboprop aircraft not being able to keep up with rising requirements of capacity, speed and comfort on short city-to-city routes, Hellenic began to introduce small jetliners such as the DC-9 series to fill the gap as the final step in achieving an all-jet fleet, something which would be completed in the mid to late 70's. The DC-9s went on to serve Hellenic for over 20 years after their introduction in 1968, with the retirement beginning in 1987.
