    any suggestions to make it look "happier?"

    By “sad” I mean half baked. Whole thing strikes me as having no love put into it.

    I see where you're coming from and in a way, you're correct. I was lost for an idea and didn't do really any planning. However, the requester (requestee?) specifically suggested it designed like the retro Canadian Pacific livery, so I tried my best in incorporating that.

    Nah, he suggested using the old CP Air livery as inspiration, and you tried to 'copy it without copying it' which ended up looking like this. Modernizing the old CP livery is possible and might look pretty good, but this isn't the right way to do it.

    Next time take your time and do multiple drafts before settling on an idea. It's how the professionals do it so it'll work for you too.

     

    And if your client is demanding mediocre work faster then they're not worth your time or effort.
