Songket Airbus A320 (Sharklets) Multiple Colourways

First of all, a couple of people already made livery designs with Songket brand in this website. However, I don't think they were able to carry the 'soul' of songket, which in Indonesia and Malaysia is known as the 'Queen of Fabrics'. Therefore, without trying to put aside what Roo and HEHEY (why don't you read my message?) had done, I decided to throw myself into making a songket based livery design with a hope I can show the true sense of this beautiful thing.

Songket itself is a fabric material made with woven cloth and embroidered with silver (sometimes golden) thread. It is commonly used in many parts of Southeast Asia, but especially in former parts of the ancient kingdom Srivijaya (southern Thailand, southern Laos, Vietnam, Kampuchea, Malaysia, western Indonesia). It was worn by people of high status in the past, but now everybody can have it, if they have the money to buy it (it is more expensive than silk).

Now about the Airline

Songket Airlines is created by its parent company, Tiger Airlines, to be a full-service airline that serve market outside its niche (Tiger Airlines is an LCC). It consists of 60-strong fleet of A320 fitted in two-class configuration, and completed with in-flight entertainment.

Songket Airlines livery is inspired by the beautiful songket pattern, and the design are made in four colourways to show the rich variation of the fabric. The airline currently also prepares a couple of special colourways to be included into the line.
