5. Sukhoi Superjet 100 | PK-AGH

After the collapse of a number of regional Indonesian airlines in the 2000s, and in line with its NextGen plan, in 2011, Nusantara ordered 20 Sukhoi Superjet 100s to replace its Boeing 737-500 fleet and to expand its regional operations which used to be left to smaller, regional carriers. After the 2012 Mount Salak Sukhoi Superjet crash, which killed 45 people including two Nusantara executives, the airline postponed its order and leased Embraer E-190 aircraft as a temporary replacement for its schedule. However, in 2014, the airline received its first SSJ100, and after undergoing vigorous test trials, entered service from the airline's Surabaya base. PK-AGH is the 8th out of 20 to be delivered and is based out of Bandung.

Nusantara's SSJ100 fleet operates alongside its ATR-72 fleet to support the Indonesian government's "Indonesian Interconnectivity" program. Most Indonesian regional airports have runways of less than 1,600 meters, which are too short for most of Nusantara's mainline aircraft to operate into, and as a result, the aircraft are used to reach smaller destinations from major hubs.

Nusantara's SSJ100 aircraft are equipped with 98 Economy Class seats.
