Chrysanthemum Airlines, or 中国菊花航空, is one of China's many low-cost regional airlines. The low-cost carrier is based in the eastern province of Zhejiang, more specifically Hangzhou.
In 2016, after being approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, it started domestic services from Hangzhou to major cities such as Beijing and Guangzhou, and also secondary cities on the eastern coast, including Xiamen and Fuzhou. The carrier's network soon expanded to 10 destinations, serving Chengdu and Chongqing in Sichuan, and Beijing and Xi'an in the north.
The low-cost airline currently has a fleet of 10 Boeing 737-800 and 2 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircrafts, with a further 10 MAX 8 jets to be delivered over the the next few years. Many of the Boeing 737-800 jets were leased, while the remaining were bought by the carrier's parent company.
Chrysanthemum Airlines' Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft flew its inaugural flight from Hangzhou to Chengdu on the 12 October 2017.
