Bengal Empire Airways 707-320 (1959-1967 Livery)

Since I don't have a VC-10 template yet this will have to do ;)

One of India's oldest carriers began the first jet service to London via Beirut from Calcutta (now Kolkata) the Boeing 707 would become the workhorse of the fleet flying to various destinations round Asia and selected routes to Europe, it was ordered alongside the Vickers VC-10 considered superior for its ability to operate out of certain airports the 707 could not however, its high operating costs meant the type was retired by 1975 and the 707s eventually leaving the fleet in 1981.

The temple windows made their debut on the new jets and have been part of the airline's image ever since however in 1967 the name was dropped in favour of Air Bengal although the famous 'Viceroy' callsign remains to this day.
