#4 - First Aircraft - MD-83

OASIS' first aircraft was this McDonell Douglas MD-83, which was delivered brand-new to the airline in 1983. This aircraft was painted in the first paint scheme, which included the white stripe around the windows. The livery also included the map of Australia on the tail. Finally, all Narrow-bodied and regional aircraft operate under the sub-brand OASIS Air Shuttle, which is still how these aircraft operate. The reason for this naming is that the Narrow-body and regional planes provide fast and reliable services between destinations that are close in proximity. The MD-80 series was retired in the year 2000, as the Boeing 737-700 and B737-800 were first introduced.

Why paint the aircraft orange? For it to be harder to find when it crashes?
