6. Boeing 737-700 "Commitment to Alaska" | N972NS

MidAmerican's operations in Alaska date back to the early 1950s, when the airline began service between the United States and Asia, with the main route beginning in New York, and ending in Hong Kong via. Chicago, Winnipeg, Anchorage, Tokyo, and Taipei. In 1990, when NAS Alaskan Airways was acquired by MidAmerican, MidAmerican Airlines CEO John Davidson told the press in Anchorage that "MidAmerican Airlines will continue the mission of NAS Alaskan Airways and will continue to serve the Alaskan people, forever and always." And MidAmerican's commitment to that statement continues today.

MidAmerican's "Commitment to Alaska" livery is featured on its Alaskan subfleet, which consists of ten aircraft year-round and additional aircraft rotated through seasonally from the mainland fleet. The livery featured the Alaskan state emblem next to the MidAmerican titles and at the front of the fuselage, and features the Big Dipper on the rear of the fuselage (similar to the design on the state flag). Finally, MidAmerican's subfleet continues to carry on the naming tradition started under NAS Alaskan Airways, and N972NS is named "Akiak", replacing the former "Akiak" which was retired in 2017.

MidAmerican's Boeing 737-700 fleet is configured with 12 Business Class seats, 30 Economy Comfort seats and 82 Economy Class seats.
