Linhas Aéreas Brasileiro L-1011

Brasileiro's first widebody jet, the L-1011 would fly with the airline until 1986 when it was retired off and replaced with the 767 on routes up to the US and selected places in Europe.

This L-1011 was delivered in 1972 and was named 'Manauara' and flew from Manaus and Curitiba to Miami until her retirement.

She was stored at Manaus for several years after her retirement and put up for sale however, the 1996 collapse of Brasileiro left her abandoned along with most of Brasileiro's fleet at various airports around Brazil.

Manauara would have a bright future however as in 2008 due to her relatively good condition in comparison to other Brasileiro L-1011s it was announced she would undergo restoration for display in the Museo AeroRio. The museum acquired various parts from the fleet of 16 abandoned L-1011s left by the airline as well as the engines from an ex- North American one stored in California.

She is now on display alongside various other Brasileiro aircraft at the museum documenting Brazil's aviation history.

I really like this, great work on the logo especially, maybe feature it more prominently on the aircraft's nose?

And that metallic effect on the gold stripe is top notch.
