Northern Pacific Airlines | Boeing 747-400 1996-2003 livery

As the 80s saw their end and everything getting normal again for Northern Pacific after the little crisis they had, they were very happy to see the new 747-400 series arrive which came just in time for the retirement of older 747s in the fleet. It was much more modern than its predecessors even the not so old 747-300. The 744 got a whole new cabin never seen on any NP aircraft before featuring video on demand. The 90s were a pretty unexciting time for the airline. There wasn't a lot of change in the airline other than new aircrafts like the 744 and 777.

The dawn of the 2000s saw something unexpected happening. 9/11 took a hard hit on the airline, passenger numbers dropped rapidly and regulations got tighter and tighter. Even though the airline managed to get through the crisis it took a hard hit on the airline. At some points in the early 2000s they considered talking to other big airlines in the US about a merger because things looked pretty bad. Afterall they didn't ask any airline and tried to fix the issue which worked and saw the airline rise to its old self.
