Northern Pacific Airlines | Boeing 707-120B 1959-1968 livery

Northern Pacific Airlines | Boeing 707-120B 1959-1968 livery

I know I am firing these of again :P anyway:

At the end of the fifties Boeing developed their first jetliner the 707. Orders came left and right, the jet age began. One very early Customer of the 707 was the airline which only flew Douglas plane before that and coincidentally was headquarted just a few minutes away from Boeing: Northern Pacific. The airline and Boeing already had talked for a long time and the final statment of any conversation with NP always was: Build an airplane we want and we take it! The Boeing 707 was the final answer from Boeing which NP waited for for so long. It opened so many new possibilties for the airline. It was introduced as quickly as possible coming with a completely new livery. At this point NP was already quite big and needed an advancement. NP even considered the Douglas DC-8 but after only a few weeks it was clear: the Boeing 707. The reputation of the airline at this point of time was very good. Good service, good personal, good pilots.
