Bohemian Airways | 737 300 1993-2002

Bohemian Airways | 737 300 1993-2002

After the fall of the communist regime and the divide of Czechia and Slovakia ČDC created an english brand name for themselves: Bohemian Airways. Now being in competition with the western airlines Bohemian got rid of most of the soviet aircraft. The first western aircraft Bohemian acquired was the Boeing 737-300 which would replace the Tu-134. At the beginning of the 90s Bohemian faced a lot of problems. Rising competition from west carriers Bohemian ended up in financial issues. The only customers they had at first where eastern europeans who where already fimiliar with the airline. At first many western europeans didn't consider the airline an option. After a while the airline finally got regular customers from the west which turned things around quite fast. Western europeans didn't expect a decent full cost carrier in the airline not until they flew with the airline. So in the mid to late 90s the airline started considering long haul routes again. It didn't take long for the first 767's to arrive and the airline even considered the 747. After long thought it just didn't make make sense because there just wasn't the demand which would have been necessary for the 747. So the airline ordered their first 777-200s. The 737 meanwhile became the main aircraft of the fleet and was effective and popular.
