Acro Airways Fleet Overview 12/2013

A319: From 2003-2010, many Airbus A319 aircraft were bought and leased directly from Airbus, or were picked up by carriers who no longer had need for the aircraft. In 2011, after exiting bankruptcy, Acro ordered 100 Airbus A319-100S aircraft as part of a 270 aircraft order. Deliveries of the A319 order began in early 2013. Deliveries from 2013 onward feature mood lighting and 110v power outlets.

A320: After exclusively operating DC-9, MD-80, and A320 aircraft, Acro needed a slightly larger aircraft for higher capacity "trunk" routes. In 2011, 170 Airbus A320-200S aircraft were ordered from Airbus as part of a 270 aircraft order. These new A320s feature mood lighting and 110v power outlets in every seat. The A320 fleet mostly operates out of DTW, LAX, and IAD.

MD-80 Series: In 1986, Acro Airways was thriving with 33 DC-9 aircraft and 17 used MD-81 aircraft. After the success of the used MD-80 family aircraft, Acro ordered 40 MD-83 aircraft for expansion across the United States. By 1990, 44 MD-80 aircraft were in service with 54 more on order. As of December 2013, Acro operates 114 MD-80 aircraft. Arrivals of more A320 and A319 aircraft will ensure the aircraft's retirement by 2021.

12/2013: Acro Airways operates 243 aircraft, with 135 more on order. All aircraft in the fleet feature wifi. Another order for either the Airbus A320neo series or the Boeing 737MAX series is expected by 2015. As Acro becomes an all Airbus operator, reports are claiming that Boeing is trying desperately to get into the fleet.

    I love this brand

I mean its technically correct calling it the Boeing MD-80, but it still upsets me

I agree; I wanted to put McDonnell Douglas but it would just look awkward because it was so long.

    This is well made
