Zealand Pacific Boeing 777-200 1992-2001

Zealand Pacific Boeing 777-200 1992-2001

With the introduction of the Boeing 777-200 Zealand Pacific decided to abandon the former idea of purchasing the MD-11. The 777 just seemed like the better investment. The first 777-200s arrived in the mid 90s and supported the routes of the DC-10. Later in the early 2000s the 777 more and more replaced the DC-10. The 777 now was the main workhorse of the long haul fleet. For major routes Zealand Pacific still used the 747-400 but the 777 was the more important plane after all. The 777s were also the only planes in the fleet that didn't get a specific names like the 747s or the former DC-10s. The general name of them were the luxuryliners similar to former promotion names. The 777 is still in service and will go on to be in service with the fleet for a long time.
