SPS Fleet

Southern Parcel Service is a US-Based cargo company with operations bases in Wichita Falls, Texas, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Hilo, Hawaii, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Cologne, Germany, Tokyo, Japan, Doha, Qatar, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Casablanca, Morocco. SPS is one of the largest cargo carriers in the world, carrying 10,676 million tonne-kilometers in 2016. SPS carries the most cargo inside the United States and the Caribbean. SPS operates flights to several European, Asian, African, and Oceanic locations.

SPS also operates a ground fleet of Chevrolet Express Cargo vans, Chevrolet City Express vans, and Peterbilt 389 tractors throughout the United States, as well as several locomotives. Southern Parcel Service's locomotives only operate within the US, while the Express Cargo, City Express, and Model 389 operate throughout the world.

SPS's air fleet consists of the MD-11F, 757-200F, ATR-72, and C208 aircraft types. The Cessna aircraft are the largest in number, with 182 in operation with SPS worldwide. The MD-11 operates worldwide flights, while the 757 operates high capacity flights within its range. The ATR-72 connects operations bases inside its range as well as connecting operations bases to regional hubs. The fleet is streamlined to make sure that every aircraft can be easily and quickly serviced at all regional hubs and operations bases.

Each state, excluding Rhode Island, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, and Connecticut have their own statewide hub. Airports in Bold are regional hubs and state hubs, while airports in bold italics are operations bases as well as state and regional hubs. These hubs are

SPS has had several incidents but has never lost an aircraft in all 55 years of its operation, a true testament to the work of its mechanics.

While the current fleet has several advantages, one problem that can plague it in the future is its age. The MD-11 and 757 are no longer being produced, and are going to be in need of replacement in the 2020s. SPS is considering the 777F to replace the MD-11 and the 767-300F to replace the 757. SPS is also considering converting older A321 or 737-800 aircraft to freighter versions to replace the 757.

Individual liveries to come if significant interest is given.
