Ohana Airways DC-9 (1965-1979 Livery)

Ohana introduced this colourful scheme in 1965 in preparation for the arrival of the DC-9 order due the beginning of 66' this one is of the later DC-9-50 and was retired in 1990 after serving the Hawaiian Islands for over 20 years.

The larger DC-9s were ordered to cope with the increased tourism in Hawaii and the burgeoning popularity of the inter island flights among tourists and residents. The larger 707 served the mainland from 1960-1973 when the L-1011 took over the routes to the mainland and throughout the Pacific.
