Southeastern 707 'Sunliner' (1956-1974 Livery)

Redo of my old one as I didn't like it.

Southeastern Airlines began operations in Key West in 1956 with a single Consolidated PBY Catalina purchased from Linhas Aereas Brasileiro flying to Havana and the Bahamas, it quickly became a popular choice for vacationers so much so that a second Catalina was purchased expanding the network.

By 1958 the first land planes had arrived a Convair CV-340 and the headquarters had moved to the larger Miami International to cope with the rising demand and later that year the larger DC-7 was ordered beginning Southeastern's routes up to New York and Chicago.

When Boeing announced the 707 seeing Vanguard, North American and Oceanic had all placed orders for the aircraft Southeastern opted to risk the order in order to remain competitive and ordered 8 of the aircraft. This gamble later paid off turning Southeastern from a large regional carrier to an international one with the first 707-120 arriving at Miami in 1959 and being placed on the route down to Rio via Manaus which began Southeastern's extensive Latin American network that remains to this day.

This one ship 563 arrived in 1962 and is the later 320B model that became the backbone of the international fleet until the 1970s when larger aircraft took its place. Her first route was Miami to Lima and flew it until the route was taken over by the DC-10 in 1975.

This livery was first seen on the original Catalinas albeit the design was tweaked to fit with the 707 and remained until 1974 when the now familiar pink, orange and yellow was introduced.
