Ukrainian Airlines Sukhoi Superjet 100 | UR10359

Ukrainian Airlines Sukhoi Superjet 100 | UR10359

In early 2011, Ukrainian Airlines placed an order with Russian manufacturer Sukhoi for 10 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft with 10 options, to be delivered between 2013 and 2015; the order was arranged with help from the Ukrainian government under Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych. The first aircraft arrived with great fanfare on April 14th, 2013, with showings at Kiev's Zhuliany and Boryspil airports, before entering regular service between Kiev and Warsaw on May 1st. Eight aircraft were delivered before the last two orders and remaining options were cancelled by the Ukrainian government amid Russian military intervention in Ukraine, and the aircraft continued to serve with Ukrainian until they were leased out to a number of carriers in 2016, replaced by a mix of Boeing 737 and Embraer E175 aircraft, before the permanent Bombardier CS100 replacements began to arrive in 2018.

UR10359 was the last SJ100 to be delivered to Ukrainian in 2014, and was configured with 12 Business Class seats and 75 Economy Class seats. The aircraft was leased to China North Airlines in November 2016.
