Formed in 1991 Viking started operations with a sole ATR42 from Copenhagen, taking up operations on the thin but vital Copenhagen - Bornholm airlink. By the end of the year another ATR42 aircraft was purchased and opened services operating domestically around Denmark. 1992 saw the airline strike a deal to receive 4 newer ATR42s allowing for inaugural international services to Gothenberg.
OY-MNV (CN 044) was the first aircraft in the Viking fleet and given the nickname 'Freyja'. It is seen illustrated here in the livery it wore for the first company flight on 06-06-91.
