Aerolíneas Peruana Airbus A330-200 | OB-3383

Aerolíneas Peruana Airbus A330-200 | OB-3383

In 1996, the situation in Peru was bleak. After the crash of Aeroperú Flight 603, public trust in aviation fell to an all-time low. Out of those ashes rised Aerolíneas Peruana's growth. First a smaller carrier, flying Boeing 737 and other smaller aircraft between domestic cities and a few routes to major capitals throughout South America (and a route to Miami), the airline gained regulatory approval to grow and gain its first long-haul aircrafts. The Airbus A330-200 was acquired in addition to the Airbus A340-300. AP's first A330-200 arrived in Lima in 1999, and was involved in growth to North America, beginning flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Toronto, in addition to the New York and Miami service rights gained after the demise of Aeroperú. In 2013, Aerolíneas Peruana gained a new image, showing off indigenous patterns with the flag, to celebrate the conclusion of its original plans to become Peru's flag carrier and to be a carrier in which Peruvians could be proud of.

OB-3383 was the third A330-200 delivered to Aerolíneas Peruana, and is configured with 22 Executive Class lie-flat seats and 242 Economy Class seats.
