IFE 1

IFE 1

Quantum has had IFE since the late 1990s. The original system comprised of several songs downloaded to an MP3 Player in the seat armrest. It was automatically included in the ticket price. In 2004 Quantum introduced a new system with an aircraft-wide poker system, flight tracking, select Prime-time shows, and a revamped music system, all in the seat back on a 12" screen. In 2008 Quantum introduced a fully new system, with a 16" screen. It is in use today. Featured is DirecTV, SiriusXM, EA Games, WSOP Online Poker, and a Chrome Browser, automatically opening to quantum.com. Also installed in all aircraft was a mini cell service provider and several routers found throughout the cabins. The systems from 2004 on were free.

The welcome screen features the 737-800 tail and is displayed until the fasten seat belt sign is turned on. When the light is turned on, the screen prepares for the safety instruction video featuring Jennifer Lawrence as the instructor. After the video is finished playing it continues to the next screen. Passengers have the option to try the system before the fasten seat belt sign turns on, but will interrupt programming for the safety video.

    I like it :)
