Nihon Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (Domestic) | JA892N

Nihon Airlines was the Asia Launch Customer of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, announcing an order for 50 787 aircraft with 30 options, including 30 787-8 aircraft and 20 787-9 aircraft. Nihon's first delivery was in December of 2012, with a ceremony on December 9th at Paine Field and a December 11th delivery to Tokyo Haneda. The first revenue flight flew later that month, when JA891N flew from Tokyo Haneda to Taipei Songshan as NH1; tickets were sold in an auction online that led to one bidder paying almost $32,000 for a business class ticket. Nihon's first 16 787-8 aircraft are configured in a domestic configuration, with 18 Executive Class seats and 305 Economy Class seats. JA892N was the second 787 delivered to Nihon Airlines.

The fifteen stripes on the tail represent each of Japan's Eras, while the eight stripes in the sun logo of Nihon represent the eight large regions of Japan.
