Founded in the early 1950s by the newly independent India and named for the first aviator in India, Tata Indian Airlines is the government-owned flag carrier of India. From its hubs in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, the airline offers an extensive domestic and international network covering four continents and over 80 cities. This aircraft is one of a handful of 777LRs the airline uses, primarily on international flights to the US and Canada. In addition to the 777, the airline also operates Airbus A320s, Boeing 737NGs, and Boeing 747s. As a government enterprise Tata has long used the Ashoka Chakra as its logo, the same symbol seen on the Indian flag.

WHY THE WAGON WHEEL?
Tata is also an indian car company.. coincidence ?

I named the airline after J.R.D. Tata, this first pilot in India and a chairman of the predecessor to today's Tata Group. It seems many companies operating in India today can be traced in one form or another to the Tata family.
That's not a wagon wheel, that's the Ashoka Chakra. It's on the Indian flag.PAJEET MY SON

The livery doesn't give Tata and the Indian subcontinent justice though.
