Is it time to stop the clock?

With the lease date bug and the problems that seem to be linked tk PEOPLExpress is it time to stop the clock until these issues are resolved? If things carryon as they are much longer will consider selling all terminals and planes and withdraw from the game. Currently own all my fleet, apart from those affected by the lease issue so dumping 500 planes on the market will distort the market. Probanly to the brnegit of yhose who currently prosper.

Beta is to find bugs, not make airlines. You just happen to be the unlucky receiver of a major bug.

I've got the lease date bug on a 747-400. But, as 2007 said, betas are betas.

Okay now, I only had $74 000 000 and bought a 747-400, 0 years old...for nothing. Let's hope these bugs are ironed out. Wait, come to think of it...I had $42 000 000 when I bought the aircraft. I got a $22mil refund for 23 895 months of lease I never had! Four of my new 747s fell rampant to this bug.

I implemented a possible fix. See if this still happens on newly delivered aircraft from this point on.

Lease date fixed.Last two deliveries show correct lease date. Still the problem of apparent 'cheating' being permitted to continue unchecked. Appeciate it is a test enviroment but ther should be standards. A top 25 player has withdrawn from the game and soldout. Cannot take advantage as PEOPLExpress is blocking new users in somecases only one flight a week. SORT IT OUT.

How does it "block new users" exactly?

You can set up a route but since the planes never attract any passengers, even if you set loss making fares, you are effectively blocked. The common denominator is that PEOPLExpress flies that route, often not commercially but with one flight a week. Appreciate he claims to be a victim but not convinced. Even when a route is not to full capacity you cannot attract passengers.

I'm not blocked, but only these routes have the problem with errors on set-up or fare change functions described in several other bug reports,so it is suspicious, as well as tedious to deal with.

The size, growth rate and many of the frequencies flown by this airline and several others associated with it are un-realistic and out of balance with the majority of the other players. (PE just ordered 500 additional AC within the last couple of hours, while stating he has 400 idle, unusable.)

Regardless if malicious or not, to protect the integrity of the game, this should be addressed and corrected asap, and prevented in the future. Hopefully it is only a bug.

In the mean-time, kudos to the developers and staff for the work done here. Rock on fellers!

Yeah, my Southwest Airlines is losing money on a lot of routes cuz of that...

Something needs to be done. I understand this is a beta, but peoplexpress is clearly up to something. He needs to either shut his airline down out of good will or be shut down. Once a week frequencies on random routes all over the world with thousands of aircraft? makes no sense. The vast majority of my routes are becoming un-updatable and I am considering shutting down my airline until the next version comes out.

I know you cant take airline ownership in this beta seriously, but I am getting pretty heated. Something is not right. This is an amazing game (and often times the only thing I look forward to after a bad day at work) and it's getting ruined.

Try the problematic routes now and see if it still gets stuck.

Checked two random routes seems OK now. Well done! Was it a bug or something more sinister? Will check a few more out in the morning.

Decided to check a 'classic' Sonoma county - Atlanta. PEOPLExpress one flight a week with a demand 10 times greater. That also works fine. Looks like it is fixed.

It was not anything sinister, I tracked it down to a problematic database query that got overloaded when it tried to crunch the on-time data for so many aircraft each airline operates on a route (especially airlines with larger fleets *cough*).

And also the whole "1x weekly on every route" strategy has been done before (to epic proportions). It's unrealistic but it doesn't inherently "ruin" any routes because it lacks seat count power.

That airline still is one of the largest airlines every created.....that airline has had a huge legacy on AE too (including but not limited to: creation of realistic sims, banning of auto-route making scripts)

I just opened a route that had his airline on it and it worked just fine. Guess it's time to eat my words. Great job, Yuxi. I can't possibly fathom how much time you must spend working on this game each day. As a million other people have said, thanks so much for the hard work.
