The beta isn't where we (the developers) want it to be. Our original plan was to finish it before the end of February, obviously that didn't happen. Also, we wanted it to be very stable, and it still isn't there. You might have also noticed that there is little to no activity in the Bug Tracker section. We apologize for this because we have been taken over by real life syndrome. Yuxi has exams coming up in the next week then again in two more weeks, and I've been trying to stay above average in school (sorry, but my future is more important than AE to me :P ). There are still some features that are unimplemented, like stopovers and the new demand script. Stopovers, might have to be delayed (..yes again, sorry) and the new demand script is still in the alpha stage.

Currently it is looking like the beta probably will not be finished until early-May, only because of a huge unexpected bug which requires a near rewrite of the game. Also, if there is any major bugs (like ones that completely make the game unplayable) in the beta, please do tell someone in the chat to tell me or Yuxi, that way it can be fixed before we get around to finishing the massive list of bugs in the bug tracker. We are very sorry about this, it isn't where we want the game to be at right now and we will try to get it back together when we can. However, this is a beta, so if a bug does destroy your airline, there will not be a compensation. Compensations usually take a while to do, and that time would be better spent fixing the bug.

Some final word has been said about the new AE3.1 worlds, there will be both an unlimited open world game and an unlimited realistic world game. If these games are popular enough, there may be more. There is also a rumour that Yuxi is looking for games starting in 1970 when the beta is finished.

Keep real world commitments above an online game (maybe i need to do that :whistling: )

We can wait.

If its going to be long, will the currently running game worlds be extended?

Thanks for sharing and providing a status update. You have a community at your fingertips and I think a keen thing going. It doesn't mean much coming from a fresh player in the game and its hard personally and obviously logistically to let others in but im sure there are many that are willing to find ways to help and or contribute. Some of us come from the industry and by that I don't mean the game industry but the Airline industry and even the software side of it. In short like what you have going and if there is help you want or need don't hesitate to ask.

Ditto to Daddieo's comments. I can't do anything with software, but in my "real" life I fly long range AC worldwide, so I can offer a "realistic" approach to ops, etc. You guys are doing a great job here, and other than the occasional voluntary contribution, all for free. Your "real" futures are way more important than this, and we know you'll continue to make this a success as "real time" permits. Good luck with the finals. Hope you have the summer off! :)
