Could someone please explain to me how the very large airlines such as Goguryeo in AE 3.1 Beta - Realistic World are manged and created? It seems like it would be imposible for a single person or even a group or people to create and manage such a large airline. Is it possible they are using some type of autoplayer (Probably a bad word around here I am sure)? It just seems that it is impossible to have 2,700+ planes and 8,000+ flights

No, its not impossible.

People that run airlines like those have far too much time to spend (me inclueded :P )

They're kind of annoying sometimes, but they play like us too. It's only bad if they hack to dominate the world you just so happened to be playing in

please don't kill us we're just the aquabats

No idea...I have 226 planes and 1045 flights right now, and I'm really losing track of things. I try to keep up by using an Excel document where I fill airports/routes, but that too is becoming really hard to manage :)

I normally give up on managing after my airline grows too big.
Bad advice :P

Goguryeo Airline was that i managed. But, there's no person who helped me, I just think I had some chances to develop it faster like using airplane market.
so, please don't think I did some bad actions.

the best is to have about 250 airplanes and manage them regularly than to have 1000+ airplanes and never be able to manage their routes. i have done dat in the past. really works, though it'll b somewat difficult to become #1 if you do not have enough time to play the game.

I actually find that its not too hard to operate a 1000+ airline.

Its just a case of knowing where your competition is.

i think it is not impossible for someone to rule the world that easy..
i mean, for a newbie, i can make benefit of $15million in a day, and the next day i found that my airline account has grow to hundred million dollar..
which if i add another benefit in the following day, who knows what will you get in the next to next day...

and talking about managing big airline, yes indeed i agree that it becomes boring when money is easily come in and routes have become a mess where i cant spot where is my actual base... LOL...

Actually, once you open routes you can leave them if no competition comes to make them negative. I normally grow by about 8-9 aircraft per real day so I just spend a few minutes assiging them routes. There's so much a manufacturer can make in a short span :P

I find that as long as you keep and growing rapidly, there is no need to manage your fleet. The new aircraft just pay for the money losing flights. This I find is more fun.

Yes, not managing= more fun. This topic is a little old though.

What I can't understand is a guy with more hubs than I have destinations ( In the last open beta) could get embroiled in fares wars with me. How can he micro-manage 10,000+ routes (only an estimate)?

He probably wouldn't need to - connecting passengers would keep him afloat. Obviously, he'd make more if he kept to O&D fares, but I guess he hasn't worked that out.

It's easy when 95% of the players in the game only concentrate on trunk/major routes.

I have over 3000 routes. Over 2900 of those, at any given time, have 100% F/C/Y load factors. It takes a few minutes every second or third day to re-adjust routes that have very low loads (and/or are losing money). Otherwise, once a week, I'll spend some time to adjust any routes with load factors below 80%.

Its also very useful if you have 5* IFE and lots of leg room.

I just click the "Match lowest price" button and it gives me >90% most of the time :)

The most succesful airline i've had was First Connect which had 309 aircraft all owned, 200 routes, 65 destinations, a DOP of $23 million, 1 terminal in each of 10 different bases. And that was quite a task to manage, my DOP dropped by approximately $3 million for one day in which i didn't manage my airline.
