Hey, guys. I'm trying to do some planning for a future hub I'd like to open, and I've noticed I'm not able to fly certain types of aircraft out of it. SXM, for example, has enough runway to fit a 747, yet I haven't been able to bring in anything larger than a 767-200ER. Also, I am not allowed to start SXM-Europe flights. So all this has me thinking... is there a list of rules around here somewhere? Something that lists the Wright Amendment, how you can't fly LGA-west coast USA routes, etc.. Thanks.

Regarding SXM, the runway restrictions often have something to do with weight. At the moment, payload only decreases range, without decreasing the required runway distance.

Exactly. This explains why I can't even fit a 773 into a number fo international airports..Regarding SXM, the runway restrictions often have something to do with weight. At the moment, payload only decreases range, without decreasing the required runway distance.

SXM has enough runway for a lightly loaded 747, which then has to stop for fuel. Since we don't simulate fuel stops or weight-dependent runway requirements yet, you cannot fly to SXM nonstop with most widebodies.
As for a definitive list of restrictions like Wright, it's something to work on in the documentation or wiki.

What about a 762 that is filled to the brim, all the pax have heavy bags, and the ac is loaded with fuel. Will it takeoff from SXM?

It won't take off at all if it's high density and the tanks are full

Yuxi,
That makes sense. Hopefully someone works on that list of cans and cant's lol I take it we cant develop international hubs either? Like Northwest had with Tokyo/Amsterdam back in their day.
