SIM2 Classic

Key features:
- massive profits and explosive growth, so starting on day one is a must
- fast-paced gameplay (two aircraft per type delivered each month combined with the massive profits)
- accurate profit predictions when creating a new route
- no gate leasing restrictions to curb expansion
- 99% bug free (so think of it as the sim1 version of sim2), no new features will be added
- has undergone months of closed playtesting, so the code is proven
None of these are actually new, but I know some players (however few) prefer the old hardcore-ness and fast pace. If you like limitless expansion, relentless competition, and game stability, this is for you.
Also, this is independent of sim2 so you can play both if you want.
If there is enough interest, we will go ahead with this plan and I will post more details soon.

I joined recently and I like some of the new features, but they do need testing.
I think we need a fully tested and stable game, and a proper marked beta.
[By the way, I'm presuming that Sim1 is still beyond repair and out of the question?]

If this was separate to the current Sim2, then I probably would.

There is a beta being tested at the moment but will take a while , right Yuxi ;-)
What Yuxi is suggesting here is a slimmed down version of what the current Sim 2 is with less bugs, a free for all to earn billions of dollars a day. I myself will not take part because I have played this year on out already but it can be good fun. It is however totally unrealistic so as long as you know that before you start you are fine.
The developers of Sim 2 have no control over Sim 1 , that's still Millers baby but don't count on anything happening with that game anymore.

Ah understood.
So we're talking more of opening a Sim3 for this slimmed down Sim2?
I must admit I prefer realism, but I also go for earning lots.

You hit the head right on the nail. "Sim3" has existed for months already, it's just not public. That's why I'm so sure it's bug-free, and all we have to do is move it to the official AE server and opening it to the public.

Yes , see it as a Sim 3.
Earning lot's is good but when you have 2000 a380's there's only so much you can do with them

Earning lot's is good but when you have 2000 a380's there's only so much you can do with them
and $500 trillion cash sitting there
We might limit the game duration (5 years, for example) so it doesn't get boring near the end.

Maybe speed it up to 2x speed and like you said cap it to 5 years.
It's running at 2x speed right now, and in previous rounds I've had 16 to 20 aircraft coming in every month change so 32-40 every real-life day.

Besides that I dont know if in the new LF script, if you have in consideration distances between airports and the closer there are the less money they will acclimate per hour and vice versa. I say this because at initial prices between Airports in EU are ridiculous, when the prices in the US when accounting for distance are low. In EU almost every country has a major Airport or 2. LHR CDG AMS FRA MAD (BLA...BLA...) When I get quotes and or I create a route out of DFW and it gives me very little to no revenue, its makes not sense. I cant fly to South America with no competition on a route, and make a decent profit.
Oh and the Alliance thing to be working.
And having a bigger advantage over another airline when flying out of your hub. Right now I lead in 2 or 3 of my hubs but my price compared to my competition is virtually the same. I in the red with a large number of routes where there are too much competition, makes no sense if im receiving more people.
I like a 1946 Sim with global closed markets. 2x speed. With a stock market with buy out, and alliance with code share.
I know you guys do well, so what ever floats your boat.
I am dying to see this new LF script.

What ever amount of years ago joined Ae, it was the realism which attracted me. When Sim 2 was originally released, I played it for a couple of weeks and I was board, due to the fact it was not challenging. If anything, if you can bring back the original Sim 1 or at least the version from 5 years ago, with aircraft aging, maybe ill consider it.

How many players would be interested in playing in a new AE game, separate from the current sim2, that uses the old sim2 LF script (the one that generated huge profits)?
Key features:
- massive profits and explosive growth, so starting on day one is a must
- fast-paced gameplay (two aircraft per type delivered each month combined with the massive profits)
- accurate profit predictions when creating a new route
- no gate leasing restrictions to curb expansion

Well, after reading the latest list of BUGS I do not think anyone will want to play this fast paced round, the latest notices within the bugs section, of ALL Gates gone, the stockmarket issues and zero cash etc is enough to make players move away from AE.
(Many past have done this, shame as the game in whole has a lot to offer)
It is about time we took hold of the game and make it playable as lot of players spend countless hours making an empire to log in and find its dissapeared or zero cash to name just a few issues.
my thoughts.

The "new" server is based on pretty old (and stable) sim2 code that's gone through months of playtesting the bugs are pretty much gone, so if anything it would provide some relief from the new stuff on sim2 right now.

Then suggestion you should put to Tobias, remove (Close the existing) sim2 and kick in this one, least players can play while bugs and fixes are performed to the one thats causing a massive lot of issues right now.
Remember David, if you keep this existing play of sim2 going with all these today issues then players will leave the game/site and a lot like in the past, never return, we dont want this to happen......

I suggested rolling back to a pre-stock market point. I'm working on aircraft leasing and three service classes on the beta server, so Tobias is managing sim2.
As far as sim2 "classic" goes, the idea is to fill a niche and cater to a small population of players who enjoy that type of game (fast growth, no limits, etc). It is in no way intended to replace the current sim2.

I suggested this in post:

I just logged into an alliance players account and they will love me, they had a DOP of 21M now 650k, looks like I will have to hide under the wheel of a 747 as they are due back tomorrow.
