Should we run sim2 at normal speed (1 game month per real day) or double speed (1 game month every 12 hours)?
Keep in mind that we're starting with $30 million, so the growth will be much faster in either case.

since still at 50/50, why not try 2 game month/real day for a week and see if players like it or not? it wouldn't hurt to revert it back to the current setting after giving the 2:1 a try.

But still, wouldn't some people in different time zones have an advantage over others?

Yea but it will be like that anyway. There will always be people who aren't available or awake at month change. Are you saying in some time zones both month changes are during the day?

Nevermind then. Like I'm never online for the month changes in the regular time anyways.

Problem is those of us who have to work will miss every alternate month

1 day = 1 month. I think the other way is too fast paced.
BTW, what happened to time start on Friday evening?
I logged on late Thursday (west coast USA)/early Friday GMT and it is already March. I was gate warned & gate removed, since I ordered planes I now have to wait to re-rent the gates. What the hell?:puzzled::airplane

Well all I can say is ...sim 1 is slow and i'm playing that so i'm gonna give up on sim 2 until it speeds up. It's boring !
For those who like a snails paced game then it's fine I suppose but it's not my cup of tea.
Good luck everyone and have fun playing !
Just a quick note, I thought this was discussed already anyway, I really don't see the point in having endless poles that never seem to lead anywhere.......

I agree with you. The first time I played sim 2 back in mid 2007 there was 4 months per day. It is a little too slow now.

It's slow if you haven't got anything to do all day except play computer games. For those of us with a job, one month / day is fine otherwise we would never be able to keep up.

Well thats more than a little self-righteous. Its not like with increased time, you're going to lose out massively - what about all of the people who the monthly changeovers don't currently favour?
I'm all for speeding things up a little, the old speed was excessive, but honestly, 2x speed isn't going to kill anyone.

Don;t we already have a game where it is one month per day. That is called Sim 1. Isn't Sim 2 meant to be different in that it is faster?

Considering how lack lusted the profit is in sim2, guess we can speed it up and make 2 months = 24 hours.

I think if it was a choice between the two, speeding it up or higher (better) profits go with higher profits so all those airports that have been added can actually be utilised. Surely someone spent a lot of time gathering the information for those airports, but now all that work is a waste.
